7 Alternatives to Office Coffee for a Morning Boost

adminBlog

Here are some activities and foods besides coffee that can give you energy

Forcing yourself out of bed in the morning at the sound of the first alarm can be a challenge, especially during colder winter months. However, as we all know, that first step is the hardest and once we accomplish it, then the rest of the day is ours for the taking! There are a number of elements aside from your all-saving grace—coffee!—that can motivate you to anticipate this daily moment with affection rather than with disdain. From caffeine bars and protein-rich sources to meditation and yoga, here are seven alternatives to coffee that can help you to achieve your optimal energy boost every morning.

1. Blueberry Blitz Oatmeal

Oats are a whole grain that contain Vitamin B, which helps our bodies to obtain or create energy. Further, blueberries are packed with a punch of manganese, a naturally energy-boosting mineral.

2. Siggi’s Raspberry Yogurt:

Yogurt is an advantageous choice for an energy boost due to the lactose that it contains. The protein in yogurt complements the lactose component by slowing down the absorption of the lactose and extending the length of your energy boost! For an additional punch, try adding raspberries to your yogurt to reap the benefits their vitamins provide.

3. Meditation

You may be thinking, how can silence while closing my eyes create energy? Many of us are tempted to, and do, set multiple morning alarms to feign an illusion of more sleep. While it sounds ideal on the surface, it actually renders us more tired than if we’d just gotten up the first time. If you choose to start your day with stillness, you help to focus your mind, enhance your awareness, reduce your daily stresses, and boost your overall well-being by concentrating your energy on a consistently optimistic outlook.

4. Yoga

Believe it or not, yoga can be a very effective alternative to coffee! The breathing technique used in yoga can stimulate not only your mind, but also your whole body. Moreover, the natural high created by fresh oxygen can last throughout the course of the day versus the short period of time that you typically experience from the consumption of a cup of Joe.

5. A breakfast bar

Protein intake influences your level of fatigue. If you don’t consume enough of it, then your day is likely to be quite lethargic! Eating a breakfast bar in the morning can provide you with the protein and fiber that you need in order to kickstart your day and reward you with a longer lasting source of energy.

6. Smooch Smoothie Pack

A balanced meal can be just as important as a caffeine boost. We love coffee because it’s quick and easy. Another alternative is a smoothie to-go, which is what Smooch delivers. Each flavor serves up fruit, fiber and Omega-3’s to get your body primed for a busy day.

7. Get Up and Go Caffeinated Baked Goods

Still need the caffeine boost? Pack it up into a treat like a cookie or muffin. Each one is the equivalent of a cup of coffee and also serves up a tasty little treat if you want to start your day with indulgence.

And while, of course, we love our coffee, it’s good to know it is possible to fuel your day by leveraging an alternative to coffee. Just open your mind and search beyond your java fix. Treat your body and your mind to foods and practices that will sustain you with the energy that you need to tackle your day head on and to thrive on a daily basis!
